Gather Your Money Little by Little!

Proverbs 13:11 (New International Version)

Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.

Provers 21:5 (The Message)

Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind.

What are you doing today to make your money grow? What are you doing today to save your money? You might say "well, what can I do to make my money grow, how can I save money?" My answer is this "gather your money little by little!!"

If God tells us that "careful planning puts us ahead in the long run", I believe Him! If you are like most, saving money is the last thing on your mind, but it shouldn't be. Situations happen everyday that need our attention, and often times need our money; you get a flat tire, you have an unexpected bill to pay, or your child needs something. What do you do if you don't have a surplus, how do you handle those situations?

For those of you who don't know where to begin as it relates to saving money, let me throw a couple of different scenarios at you:

  1. Try packing your lunch everyday for 1 week and put the money you would have used into a jar, and at the end of the week see how much money you saved. Most people spend about $6 a day on lunch, which is a saving of $30 a week, just for packing your lunch. If you feel comfortable doing it after a week, try doing it for one whole year, and see how you save $1,560 almost effortlessly.

  2. But what if you say "Kellee, I'm already doing that, I pack my lunch everyday, how else can I save money?" My answer would be this: you can have your payroll company deduct $25 out of your paycheck every week, or $50 every two weeks, and have that money go directly into a saving account. Get a saving account without an ATM card, so you don't have easy access to your savings. And don't touch your savings unless a real emergency occurs. In doing that, you will see how your finances grow by allowing it to gather little by little. Which will in turn put you ahead in the long run!

I have faith in you!! I know you can do this!! We'll do it together!!

Have a Most Prosperous Day!!

Why Do Skinny Women Get More Respect...

Okay, let me first start off by saying, I do not think like Monique. I love skinny women. I aspire to be skinny again one day. Who am I kidding, I wasn't skinny... LOL! I was a size 8, and that was comfortable to me. And being a size 14 now, I would pay good money to be a size 8 again. I would probably commit a crime, to be a size 8 again. Kidding, I wouldn't commit a crime.. Or would I.. Hmmmmm :)

Anywho, what brought this on was, my calendar is getting super busy... I'm being pulled into more, and doing more with my business. And my first thought was "I need to drop 50lbs immediately!". What brought that thought on!?! I'll tell you what, I know that smaller women are more respected. People look at skinny women differently in the corporate world.

And, I work to hard, not to be respected. There is more to me than my size, but I don't want people to tune me out, before I even get started. Now, I am secure in myself... Let's NOT get that t…

One Year of Prep - Day Five

Good Evening Peeps,

Wow, has it been five days already? I kind of had a rough weekend you guys. I have been eating everything in sight. I had an extremely boring weekend, and apparently that's all I can think to do. :-(

I didn't have much going on this weekend; I had a meeting yesterday morning which didn't last very long. And the remainder of the day I laid in bed watching television and eating. Who does that!?! Oh, I do.. That's who!

I had great intentions, I just didn't follow through. So, losing weight is one of my goals this year. I would like to lose about 70lbs. So starting tomorrow, I am making a commitment to myself, all of you, and God to only eat when I am physically hungry.

If I don't get this eating thing under control now, I am going to be 300lbs before I know it. No offense to anyone reading this, and weighs that much. But for me and my life, the life God called me to live - being that big is a no go.

I actually want to be skinny. About 135lbs…

Start Where You Find Yourself

"When he came to his senses, he said, 'how many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death"! (Luke 15:17)

How many of us need to do as the prodigal son did, and come to our senses? How many of us are going day by day, living "prodigal lives"? Here is some definitions of a Prodigal Life:
Living excessivelyWastefulCostly RecklessLacking cautionThoughtless You may ask, what does a prodigal life have to with the title of today's blog. EVERYTHING!! You have to know where you are, before you can start where you find yourself. Just as this son began to realize where he was, we have to do the same thing. He realized that he was in a pig pen starving to death, because of his prodigal living, and he came to his senses, and started where he found himself.
He had to hit the reset button on his life, but, he had to come to his senses first. And that's what we have to do, when we find ourselves in prodigal living. We …
