How is Your Financial Thought Life?

My Unusual Life is not a blog that just focuses on relationships. I believe that this blog will help us all to be whole in every area of our lives.

I am re posting a blog from 3 years ago, that really touched and helped people. It relates to our thoughts, faith, and our finances.

Successfully getting out of debt and getting your finances in order is going to depend on how you think. The Word of God says "As a man think, so is he."
Proverbs 23:7

So how are you thinking? Are you thinking "I'm always going to be broke, I'll always live paycheck to paycheck." Here's a good one that I've heard a time or two "I'll never have enough money to save." Well, if that is the way you are thinking, that will be the way you will always be living.

We have to get our faith in the right place, for the word says "The just shall live by faith." (Romans 1:17) If you don't believe you will ever have anything, or be anything, then it will happe…

Start Where You Find Yourself

"When he came to his senses, he said, 'how many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death"! (Luke 15:17)

How many of us need to do as the prodigal son did, and come to our senses? How many of us are going day by day, living "prodigal lives"? Here is some definitions of a Prodigal Life:
Living excessivelyWastefulCostly RecklessLacking cautionThoughtless You may ask, what does a prodigal life have to with the title of today's blog. EVERYTHING!! You have to know where you are, before you can start where you find yourself. Just as this son began to realize where he was, we have to do the same thing. He realized that he was in a pig pen starving to death, because of his prodigal living, and he came to his senses, and started where he found himself.
He had to hit the reset button on his life, but, he had to come to his senses first. And that's what we have to do, when we find ourselves in prodigal living. We have to hit …

Money Test - Would You Pass or Fail?

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." (Matthew 19:21)

Have you ever had a "money test"? The rich young ruler in this story did. Jesus asked him to do something, He asked him to part with his possessions and give it to the poor; do you think he passed or failed this test? If you answered failed, you are correct. He failed his "money test".

I received a number of money test, some I passed, and some I failed. One I remember like it was just yesterday. One day, I received an unexpected check in the mail for $100, and I had already had it spent in my mind before I even took it to the bank to cash it. I was going to go get my hair done, and go get a mani and a pedi.

Later on that evening I was sitting on my sofa, still very excited about the fact that I received this unexpected check, and I heard the Holy Spirit say "you didn't ask me what I …

The Power of Tithing

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. Malachi 3:10a

Did you know there is power in tithing? If you didn't know it's probably because you are not a tither.

Tithing is a subject a lot of Christians do not like to discuss. They don't like the idea of giving up their money, especially if they think it's just going to go into someone else's pocket. They say "I can't afford to tithe", or "the preacher already has enough money".

When Christians say that, their looking at the wrong thing. First, and foremost, we can't afford NOT to tithe. And the word says that when we tithe Jesus receives our tithes. (And here men that die receive tithes; but there He receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that He liveth.) Hebrews 7:8

So ultimately, when we tithe, yes, our Priests receive the tenth here on earth, but Jesus receives the tenth in Heaven. Do you get it? We are not tithing to our Priests, we are tithing to…

Success is in Your Hand

Success is in your hand...Follow God's Financial Plan

You can do this!! God equips us with everything we need to get out of the land of debt, and into the land of more than enough. People think it's so hard to get out of debt, and it's really not. “How do I get out of debt?” you ask; YOU JUST DO IT!!!! Ask God to manifest His wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to you, and then go for it. God will be backing you all the way.

I say again: Success is in your Hand, follow God's Financial Plan…

Let no debt remain outstanding. (Romans 13:8a) God would not have put that in the bible if it was impossible for you to do. That scripture alone should empower you to go and get out of debt. It is not God’s will for His children to be weighed down with bad credit, debt, high interest rates, and fees. I urge you to do everything you can to get out of debt, and then when you have exhausted all of your resources, allow God to use His!!

I have faith in you!! I know you can do this!! We'…
